Bruxism
Clenching, or grinding your teeth, is a habit that can lead to many oral health problems. Bruxism causes teeth to become prematurely worn and can also damage your jaw’s articulations (the temporomandibular joints).
Many treatments are available to correct this problem, which is most commonly caused by stress and anxiety. Those who have occlusion problems or misaligned teeth may also suffer from bruxism.
Symptoms of bruxism:
- Teeth sensitivity
- Premature wearing down of teeth
- Tooth fractures or displacement
- Jaw pain
- Teeth grinding during sleep
- Chronic headaches
- Earache
- Fatigue
- Neck pain
If you suffer from one or several of these symptoms, make an appointment to get an accurate diagnosis. We’ll recommend a treatment plan that’s right for you.
